Acts 15:14-17

“I will raise up the Tabernacle of David which had fallen down”

Great and merciful is our God who Rebuilds, Restores and Revives. He rebuilds broken lives; restores what is lost and brings to life dry bones!!!

In the book of Acts, James saw the Church with the gentiles and Jews coming together as the restoration of the Tabernacle of David. This is what Amos prophesied. (Amos 9:11)

The tabernacle of David would also mean the house of David. God remembered His promise to David and enthroned Jesus Christ forever as the King. David conquered and ruled over other nations of his day. Today Jesus Reigns overall Nations as King and Lord!

Raising up the Tabernacle of David has wide significance. David brought in a new order of worship. He brought the Ark of God which was forgotten for 40 years and housed it in the tabernacle he built in Jerusalem. And with what joy and what celebration he brought it with singing and dancing before the Lord! He longed for God’s presence as the deer pants for waters in a dry land. God’s presence alone can satisfy our longing souls.

David sang of the blessedness of the redeemed whose sins are forgiven. They enter into God’s presence joyfully with thanksgiving and praise! They taste God’s goodness and the richness of His grace and mercy. In the Tabernacle of David, joyful worship overtakes sober religious worship having mere formalities!

David commissioned anointed priests and appointed worship leaders and musicians to sing and worship the Lord. Many among them were prophets! They sang the prophetical Messiahnic psalms! God is bringing back spiritual ministry in the church. Those who worship Him, worship Him in Spirit and in truth. Worship is an act of the whole person and not just an intellectual exercise.

I believe that spiritual worship is not just confined to the Church. It should be a part of our daily life in our families! A senior pastor who had established more than 500 churches said that one of the blessings he enjoyed has been to come to God’s presence every day with his family early in the morning with songs of praise and worship reading the Word and praying! How many families enjoy such blessedness!

How about our personal lives? There is no other joy and blessedness like worshipping the Lord in our hearts, giving praise and thanksgiving always and at all places. The Lord is restoring the Tabernacle of David in our hearts.

Do you enjoy worshipping Him like David did!
